Research needs a tailwind

ForJu runs on volunteers: project mentoring, workshops and networking depend on people giving their time – and on money we simply do not have. We want to raise €12,000 so that next year we do not have to turn anyone away.

Not one prestige project, but the groundwork: grants, workshops, events and keeping the lights on.

What we are raising for

We split the €12,000 across four pots – roughly the way our spending has broken down over the past few years.

€4,000

Backing young people

Materials, travel to competitions and small grants for diploma, bachelor and master theses.

€3,000

Workshops & education

Speakers, rooms and consumables. One workshop afternoon realistically costs us €200 to €400.

€3,000

Events & community

Networking evenings, project showcases, summer party: the occasions that turn separate projects into a community.

€2,000

Infrastructure

Insurance, accounting, domains, hosting and tools. Unglamorous – and nothing runs without it.

Your donation

One-off or monthly, by card, PayPal or bank transfer. Every amount helps – small ones too.

In-kind gifts, sponsoring & grants

Rooms, materials, compute time or a workshop run by your team – or corporate sponsoring with an invoice. We will find a format that fits.

Transparency

We are a non-profit association with no paid staff. What comes in goes into the work – and you can read up on what came of it by 2027.

  • Nobody at ForJu pays themselves from donations: the board and the team are volunteers.
  • Once a year we report to the general assembly on how the funds were used.
  • Two auditors review the books – as Austrian association law requires.

Payments are processed by external providers. How we handle data is described in our privacy policy, and the association details are in the legal notice.

Frequently asked

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Not at the moment: ForJu is not on the Austrian list of privileged donation recipients under § 4a EStG. So your donation is pure support without a tax benefit – but also without paperwork.

Do I get a donation receipt?

Yes, on request. Email us the date and amount at office@forju.at and we will send you a confirmation for your records.

How much of my donation arrives?

With a bank transfer, practically all of it. Card and PayPal cost us roughly 2 to 3 % in fees – in return they are faster and need no typing. Either way is fine by us.

Can I stop a monthly donation?

Anytime and without giving a reason: in your banking app for a standing order, via the link in the confirmation email for card payments – or with a short email to us.

I would rather give materials or time.

Very welcome. In-kind gifts, rooms, know-how or a workshop run by your team often help us more than money. Just tell us what you can offer.

What happens if more than the goal comes in?

Then the plan simply reaches further: anything above the goal goes into the same four pots, for the season after. We would rather set money aside than spend it in a hurry.
